Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO), the largest public sector consortia provider of goods and services and food to both the Education and Local Authority sectors in the UK, is to use the G.O.L.D. Supply Chain Management software from global retail solutions provider, Aldata, to support its expanding wholesale operations.
The order covers Aldata G.O.L.D. modules for central data management, order management, warehouse management and replenishment optimisation to supply around 17,000 schools and 30,000 customers.
"YPO has been successful because of the high levels of service we have offered", said Steve Atherton, Director of YPO. “Now we are looking to increase our supply chain efficiencies and control of the business as well as expand our operations. We are convinced that Aldata’s solution and experience are ideal to help us achieve this”.
"Aldata G.O.L.D. is fully browser-based allowing all data and processing to be controlled centrally, and avoids complex software distribution challenges. This is important to YPO as they will be offering Internet-based value added services to their customers in the future”, says Mark Croxton, Managing Director of Aldata Solution in the UK.
René Homeyer, CEO of Aldata Solution Oyj, adds: "The Aldata G.O.L.D. software suite is now more and more recognised as the solution of choice not only for core business operations but also for leveraging advanced technology to improve business processes and to enhance customer service".
YPO operates from its warehouses in Wakefield and makes extensive use of 3rd party logistics providers as well as its own transport.
