Blue Security Offers Free Solution To Protect Small Businesses And E-Mail Domain Owners From Spam

Menlo Park, Calif., Nov. 29, 2005 – Blue Security, Inc., developers of the Do Not Intrude Registry™ solution to eliminate unsolicited e-mail spam, announced today the launch of its business offering for protecting the e-mail domains of small businesses, organizations and all Internet e-mail domain owners. Blue Security’s service is free for consumers and businesses registering domain names with up to 200 e-mail addresses. The free service will be available for the remainder of 2005 and through 2006 if users join the Blue Community before March 31, 2006.
Blue Security's business offering provides enhancements over its consumer version by protecting entire e-mail domains rather than individual e-mail addresses. Registering an e-mail domain in the Do Not Intrude Registry protects all e-mail addresses of that domain from spam, free of charge. The business solution allows e-mail domain owners – businesses, educational institutes, non-profit organizations and consumers alike – to actively fight spam and safeguard personal and business e-mail accounts though an active, community-based approach.
Blue Security's business solution introduces a safe, simple and proactive approach to fighting spam. Once registered, each domain owner installs a small software client, the Blue Frog, on a single computer and forwards spam they receive to Blue Security for analysis. Blue Frog then posts ‘opt-out’ requests on the sites advertised by spam, asking spammers to remove registered addresses from their mailing lists and stop sending unsolicited spam to Blue Community members. The Do Not Intrude Registry empowers the owners of e-mail domains to exercise their right under the CAN-SPAM Act, to securely and automatically opt-out of spam.

Since the launch of the Do Not Intrude Registry in the summer of 2005, approximately 55,000 e-mail addresses have been registered and protected through the Blue Community. Preliminary results of the Beta service have users reporting 50 percent or greater reduction in the amount of spam they receive, indicating that a number of spammers already comply with the Registry and avoid sending spam to Blue Security customers.
Joining the Do Not Intrude Registry is simple and merely requires installing the Blue Frog client on an Internet-connected PC. No integration with existing network or e-mail infrastructure is required. Unlike spam filters, with the Do Not Intrude Registry there are no false positives, no messages lost, no maintenance or management. By eliminating spam sent to their e-mail servers, domain owners will reduce expenses on network bandwidth, e-mail storage and backup.
