Proactive solution extracts business data from unrelated sources across a business's entire IT resource...
29 November, 2005 - Ardentia, a leading provider of business intelligence solutions, has launched NetSearch, an advanced enterprise search tool enabling private and public sector organisations to search their entire IT and data resources, providing access to key business data quickly and efficiently.
NetSearch is an intelligent, proactive search tool which enables users to search multiple sources of unrelated data spread across an enterprise in unconnected data sources such as file servers, critical business applications, content management systems intranets and web servers. This gives rapid search access to important business data.
NetSearch is claimed to boost efficiency and give staff a clearer view of business information, extracting operational data from multiple internal sources. It also increases the ROI of existing enterprise applications such as CRM, ERP, SCM and sales automation systems. In customer-facing environments such as contact centres, NetSearch gives agents faster access to the information they need, leading to increased call handling per agent.
According to Ardentia, Netsearch also supports e-Government initiatives to provide citizens with better access to information, under the Freedom of Information Act. It can be deployed in public information sharing applications to help individuals to locate accurate information quickly and securely.
With corporate compliance being a prominent issue, NetSearch can be employed within organisations to quickly locate any sources of non-compliance, so that remedial action can be taken.
NetSearch's simple interface lets users input keywords in everyday language, searching unstructured, semi-structured and structured information contained in Word, Acrobat, Excel, html and Report documents and categorising results according to their relevance and providing intelligent links which can be further refined. Managers can view relevant, fully unified data from a single access point, regardless of data source, format or location, supporting faster and better-informed business decisions
The tool can be used by employees across an organisation, enabling employees to search the organisations entire electronic information and data sources whilst adhering to existing security infrastructures.
NetSearch also features user authentication and authorisation, delivering index-level security and restricted views based on right to view. Queries and search results are also logged to provide an audit trail of what information has been accessed, and by whom.
Keith Ricketts, Marketing Manager at Ardentia said: "Without effective, company-wide search techniques, users waste valuable time searching across multiple systems for the data they need. By searching through a company's entire IT resources, NetSearch links together relevant data from multiple sources, providing more meaningful, comprehensive information for individuals' needs."
