New payment solution developed for credit-card free Internet transactions and web services...
28 November 2005 - alphyra UK has announced that the innovative Ukash online payment service is now available on its PAYzone network, at over 24,000 terminals across the UK. Ukash enables consumers to pay for goods and services on the Internet without using a credit or debit card.
Consumers will be able to use PAYzone terminals in stores across the country to obtain Ukash vouchers. Ukash vouchers are worth exactly the amount of cash paid and can then be used with a range of participating online merchants, vendors and service providers.
UK consumers will be able to obtain vouchers worth between £10 and £100, whilst those in the Euro zone will be able to purchase vouchers worth between EUR15 and EUR150.
alphyra is the UK and Europe's largest cash acceptance company, with over 120,000 points of sale across 19 European countries. PAYzone has a growing network of over 24,000 retailers in the UK alone, nearly double that of its nearest rival ensuring consumers have the widest possible access to Ukash vouchers across the UK and Europe.
Rupert Lowery, managing director of alphyra said: "We are continually striving to expand the range of services on offer to consumers through the PAYzone terminals. Retailers and consumers alike will derive benefit from our partnership with Ukash. Consumers now have an alternative means of paying for Internet services, and our network of independent retailers will benefit not only from the commission earned, but also from the associated footfall from other purchases."
Michael Norton of Ukash said: "alphyra has the financial processing experience and market presence to deliver the Ukash solution across Europe and make it widely available to the consumer. Their market-leading position will ensure high levels of accessibility and support and in addition the technical expertise to expand the technology into new market sectors."
