Kia Motors rolls out over 140 dealership sites across the UK using Sitecore Foundry

Published 26th November 2009

London, UK, 26 November 2009 – Sitecore, the leading provider of .NET Web Content Management System (CMS) software, today announced that Kia Motors UK has begun to rollout its 140-plus dealership network websites using Sitecore Foundry. Built on the Sitecore Web CMS content management platform, Sitecore Foundry allows the vehicle-maker to centrally manage the Kia brand identity across hundreds of sites whilst entrusting their day-to-day upkeep and content administration to local site managers.

The kia.co.uk website was rebuilt earlier this year by the digital agency E3 using Sitecore’s content management system. Since the re-launch, Kia Motors states dealer searches are up by 104% to over 60,000 a month and phone calls to dealers originating from the site are up by 35%.

With the introduction of Sitecore Foundry, Kia will be able to extend its initial success across the UK. With just a few clicks of a mouse Kia dealerships can use Sitecore Foundry to establish the overall palette of their dealer site and have access to design choices and feature options in the initial set up. Then using the Site Wizard they can customise the site design by choosing from a wide range of features. Options include everything from social networking forums, extranets, newsletters and SMS distribution to activity calendars, photo galleries and ad spot rotation. Kia’s dealers also benefit from Sitecore Foundry’s comprehensive in-line editing support and latest advanced security controls based on the .NET security provider framework.

Simon Bartolo, managing director, Sitecore UK stated:

“It is always a thrill to see existing customers like Kia Motors choosing to re- invest in our technology to grow and expand their businesses. By enhancing a great site, built with Sitecore CMS, with Sitecore Foundry, Kia has placed hundreds of dealers in charge of individual site content while centrally maintaining the integrity of their brand identity. This is an excellent example of the added business value our customers are deriving from the Sitecore product portfolio.”

John Bache, Database & Digital Marketing Manager, Kia Motors stated:

“Kia is committed to using the latest digital marketing techniques to support our dealer network. Our dealers have been shown how to use the web to drive sales leads and make a direct correlation between digital marketing spend and return-on-investment. This knowledge, along with the ease of use of Sitecore’s Foundry solution will motivate our dealers to maintain their own content such as local offers and sales events.”

Dealer sites like Bolton (http://dealers.kia.co.uk/bolton/) are going live throughout November 2009.
