Tradocs helps businesses through the removal of BT’s EDI*NET service

Published 25th November 2009

With the news that BT will be disbanding their EDI network, EDI*Net, on 24 February 2010, businesses using this service will be making important decisions on which EDI service provider to switch to.

Whilst for many businesses being made to find an alternate EDI provider may seem like an unwelcome burden, especially in the current economic climate, for many others this has been seen as a unique opportunity to move away from a restrictive EDI environment and implement more modern technologies, such as Tradocs’ XML offering.

Tradocs offers companies a way to break free from existing EDI connections - which often prove costly and unreliable - and start taking advantage of more reliable, and cheaper, internet based options. As opposed to the VAN or AS2 connections offered by many EDI providers, Tradocs operates its own secure FTP service, which is fast becoming the preferred data interchange connection for many businesses.

Tony Duggan, Chief Executive of Tradocs comments; “Existing EDI connections are fast becoming very dated, having been introduced almost 30 years ago now. We are proud to be able to provide a service that no longer ties businesses down to costly contractual agreements, and that also provides a far more reliable, efficient and functional platform for B2B trading.”

Provisions have already been made by Tradocs to enable EDI*NET customers to quickly implement a connection between them and their trading partners. For further details, or to discuss your business’ specific requirements, please contact the Tradocs team on 0870 141 7031 or visit www.tradocs.net
