CA Scoops Software Vendor of the Year Award at Misco Star Awards

DITTON PARK, UK. November 5th 2009 – CA (NASDAQ: CA) today announced that the CA Internet Security Business Unit (ISBU) and Recovery Management Data Modelling (RMDM) business unit has been awarded the Software Vendor of the Year award at the annual Misco Star Awards ceremony by Misco UK, a leading online provider of IT products and services to the private and public sector, that celebrates the support and commitment of Misco vendors.

CA scooped the award over other competing vendors including Microsoft, Apple, Symantec, Adobe and Autocad, thanks to outstanding dedication to the Misco partnership. The awards are voted for by the management, sales staff and individual account managers at Misco UK. Nominations are based on support, commitment and the ability to help win and close business deals throughout the year. CA was presented the award by one of Britain’s top stand up comedians and actor Stephen K. Amos.

Chris Bowring, Channel Sales Director, Northern Europe, CA, said, “We are delighted to have been presented such a prestigious award and are really pleased to have been nominated and selected over some top competitors. The award reflects the respect and support from one of our key partners.”

Simone Ray, Channel Account manager, CA, was also nominated for the most outstanding account manager category due to her dedication to the Misco partnership.

The annual Star Awards followed the annual Misco Customer Expo which saw over 70 IT manufacturers and suppliers take part in showcasing the latest IT innovations available to large enterprises and SMEs. The event, now in its fifth year, was held in London and had a record attendance of over 1100 business customers from the public and private sector, making it the most successful Misco Expo to date.

Misco are a Platinum partner for both the CA ISBU and the RMDM business units. At last year’s event CA was awarded the ESP award for enterprise solutions.
