Webcasting at Work - Live video panels explore the issues around the huge growth in online media and communication
London, 13 October, 2009: Webcast Global, an online multimedia specialist delivering all aspects of live and on-demand multimedia communications, today announced that it will be holding free live monthly video webcasts to help businesses understand how they can take full advantage of Digital Britain - the UK Government's strategic vision for ensuring that the UK is at the leading edge of the global digital economy. The first webcast will take place on Thurs 22 October, 2009 at 13.00.
“The objective of our live video webcasts will be to help UK businesses understand the benefits that Digital Britain will deliver to their business operations, especially with regard to enhanced customer, stakeholder and staff communications,” explained Tom Stroud, CEO, Webcast Global. “Digital Britain will help drive the new area of advanced and interactive online communication to even higher levels. This will lead to an even closer integration of social networking and webcasting technologies. UK businesses have no time to waste in understanding why they need to put together digital communications strategies that will ensure they are leading players within a Digital Britain.”
Each month Webcast Global will bring together both business and communications experts to advise on the effects on UK businesses of Digital Britain. Through informed debate the panelists will deliver information demonstrating the role that new media must now play in today’s and tomorrow’s digital business environment. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the expert panel questions directly using an online ‘live chat’ facility.
The theme of the first webcast is the future of online communications. To reflect this Stroud will be joined by an expert panel made up of:
Rhodri Williams, Director, Wales for the communications regulator Ofcom
Robert Lloyd Griffiths, Regional Director - Wales, Institute of Directors (IoD), representing the interests of senior business leader members within the organisation and responsible for the delivery and implementation of IoD policy in Wales
Wil Stevens, CEO, Cube Interactive, an interactive production company specialising in broadband and cross-platform productions.
The live panel discussion will be hosted by Duncan Higgitt, Editor, WalesHome.org. Higgitt’s journalistic experience includes roles as news and features editor of the Western Mail.
