Business only ISP launches super fast, next generation, 24MBps broadband service
LONDON, 18th March 2009 – Star, the UK’s only business focused ISP, has announced today that it has launched a 24 Mbps broadband service; ADSL2+. The new, super fast broadband service is the first and only of its kind that is a business-only service, of this speed and solely for UK business customers. It provides a high-quality end-user experience and the service is available with no download limits, and costs from £39.99 per month, with no set-up fee.
Star’s next generation broadband has been launched to compliment a complete portfolio designed to enable businesses to communicate at any time, from anywhere and using any device. ADSL2+ is ideal for businesses connecting remote workers or offices to centralised resources. With faster upload as well as download speeds, sending large file attachments is quicker and easier. The high speed service also facilitates unified communications including the transmission of voice, applications and video.
The service is business-only, and therefore not contended with consumers who have bandwidth hungry habits causing ‘peaks’ and ‘troughs’ that can affect the performance of the network. Keeping the network business grade is a key factor in helping Star to deliver business ready solutions. In this way, Star’s customers get a more appropriate broadband service that is consistent, resilient and dependable. Star is launching the service on BT’s Next Generation Network delivered in stages across the UK; it will be available across up-to 40% of the region by April 2009. The service is backed up with Star’s 24/7 management and support and offers the highest level of customer care, facilitated through a dedicated account manager.
Richard Blundell of Informed Employees Ltd comments: “Like many organisations, we’re faced with the challenge of ensuring that our growing number of remote workers and branch offices, all have the same high speed access to applications as our head office operation. Having recently upgraded to Star’s next generation broadband, we’ve noticed a marked improvement in the speed with which they can connect to centralised applications, which means that we can be more productive and responsive, as an organisation.”
Hugo Harber, Head of Convergence & Network Strategy at Star comments, “Whilst there are other providers offering a range of high speed broadband services, Star’s is the first which is dedicated to UK businesses only. It’s an important distinction which means that the customer not only gets access to the fast speeds available over the network, but they also have the reassurance of support from a team who understand their specific business requirements and can respond quickly whenever they are needed.”
