Extreme Networks® today announced that it will be exhibiting at CeBIT 2009, running between 3rd-8th March this year. On a joint stand number A26 with its distribution partner Algol Europe GmbH in Hall 12, Extreme Networks will be demonstrating its current network solutions for metro Ethernet transport switch, BlackDiamond 20808 and the 10GB data centre switch, Summit® X650. These innovative products enable organisations to optimise network-related costs – particularly important in the current economic climate.
"At this year’s show we want to demonstrate how companies can benefit from taking a different approach to certain elements within their networks,” says Jürgen Kirchmann, Regional Director DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) at Extreme Networks. “By using resources more efficiently with the help of intelligent network solutions, organisations are able to realise significant savings in power consumption and boost the performance of their networks via automating operational activities, and thus reduce their operational expenses."
Extreme Networks will deliver live demonstrations at the show via a connection to its Demo Lab and the Solution Centre at Algol Europe. Extreme Networks and Algol alliance partner, Avaya will also be represented at the stand, to reveal the benefits of a cost-effective and powerful 21st century communications solution.
Products on display include:
The BlackDiamond 20808 switch is the first purpose-built metro Ethernet transport switch, delivering the industry-leading combination of value, scale and performance for converged packet transport. It enables the lowest total cost of ownership for metro Ethernet transport by slashing capital expenditures while minimising operational expenditures, due to the operational simplicity of Layer 2 Native Ethernet solutions. With a scalable metro Ethernet transport network capable of carrying more services at a lower cost, the BlackDiamond 20808 enables increased carrier profitability.
The new Summit® X650, a 24 port non-blocking 10 Gigabit fixed switch, provides a breakthrough approach for data centers with industry-leading high capacity and performance stacking technology that offers customers flexibility and a smooth migration for servers supporting 10 Gigabit and Gigabit speeds. Businesses can therefore migrate to 10 Gigabit Ethernet in a cost-effective way whilst simultaneously protecting their investments in Gigabit technologies for switches and servers.
Says Kirchmann, "Cebit will be an ideal venue to reach a wide variety of companies who are all looking for more efficient and vesatile network solutions. The live demonstrations we can offer them on Stand number A26 will prove they have come to the right place.“
