Finjan Appoints Leaders in Web Security to Advisory Board

Finjan Announces Formation of Advisory Board and Appointment of Practitioners and Leaders in the Web Security Industry


San Jose, CA, USA, December 16th, 2008 – Finjan Inc., a leader in secure web gateway products, today announced the formation of an advisory board and its first appointments.

The Finjan Advisory Board members include:
• Gregory Todd Garcia, who was the first presidentially appointed Assistant Secretary for Cyber Security and Communications at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Recently departed from the Department after more than two years of public service, Mr. Garcia previously held a variety of technology and public policy positions, including Vice President, Information Security Policy and Programs with the Information Technology Association of America; professional staff member for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science,; and Director, Global Government Relations at 3Com Corporation. Garcia graduated with distinction in International Business from San Jose State University in 1985.

• Taher Elgamal, who is a leading expert in computer, network and information security. Mr. Elgamal served as Chief Technology Officer of Tumbleweed Communications until its acquisition by Axway, Inc. He also served as the founder/chairman of Securify and as the Chief Scientist of Netscape. Taher Elgamal is recognized in the industry as the "inventor of SSL" and helped establish SSL as the Internet security standard. He is a well-respected expert in cryptography with several thousand publications to his name. Mr. Elgamal has extensive public Board of Director experience and is an advisor to Onset Ventures as well as several Internet and Web security companies. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
