Conjungo launches online service to help technology buyers get a better deal

Web 2.0 site combines searchable database of suppliers, a library of independent buying advice and guides in plain English, and other buying services

Conjungo has launched the UK’s largest independent technology information resource and search engine. It is aimed at helping buyers of ICT products and services find the right technology and locate suppliers with the right skills, to simplify the procurement process and get a better deal.

“There are more than four million small and medium enterprises in the UK and many struggle with the ICT procurement process simply because of information overload,” comments David Cruse, CEO, Conjungo.

“Doing a simple Google UK search for a CRM package suitable for a small retail environment will generate around half a million hits, trying to find a buyers guide via this method will generate another 15,000 hits and there is no guarantee that the information you find is independently validated and not just blatant advertising – to solve this issue, Conjungo was born.”

Conjungo does not sell any product or services directly to its end users but instead generates its revenue exclusively from listings and banner advertisement. “Conjungo provides a level playing field with information that is useful, consistent and trustworthy,” explains Cruse.

“A Conjungo user looking for remote access software suitable for retail could use our site to simplify the whole process. For example, they could first download a guide on remote access, then get advice from one of our online experts and finally search our database for a supplier based on their local geography and individual needs.”

Conjungo has the approval of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, The European Institute of Purchasing Management, the Communication Managers Association and the UK Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce.

“As a truly independent organisation, Conjungo recognises that technology buyers already have trusted sources of purchasing information and we have begun a program to allow other websites to embed our search technology into their sites to help our service reach a wider audience,” says Cruse.

Soon after launch, ‘Powered by Conjungo’ supplier searches and ‘Go Understand’ content will be available through websites hosted by some of the worlds leading publishers. Such sites include Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, Techworld.com, Computerworlduk.com, IT-Analysis.com, Comms-Dealer.com and RetailTechnology.co.uk etc. The Conjungo site already include the details of channel partners from more than 20 technology vendors including Cisco, BT, Symantec, Mindjet, Wyse, TeleWare, SMART, Citrix, Swyx, Websense and Adobe.
