London, UK – 19 March 2008 – Ipanema Technologies, the leader in application traffic management systems for large wide area networks, Telcos and managed service providers, has announced today the new version (v5) of its SALSA platform. SALSA (Scalable Application Level Service Architecture) has already been deployed by major Telcos and Managed Service Providers like BT, C&W, OBS, Swisscom, Telindus, Vanco, etc. SALSA is a unique multi-network and multi-server platform designed to support centralised operations for scalable and repeatable application-centric service offerings over WANs which transcend actual VPN services and enable the shift from a network-centric SLA model to an application-centric one.
SALSA v5 brings many new key advanced features to the current platform, covering such areas as: a new reporting server, a new web portal, a new GUI, fully redundant Radius interface, inventory management, fully integrated flexible license management, etc. SALSA v5 also brings an impressive capacity improvement allowing the
management of 5.000+ sites per server. Each SALSA platform can control 100+ servers, providing a nearly unlimited scalability to support widespread application-centric managed services. Examples of such services are: application performance monitoring, critical application performance guarantees, application performance acceleration, network governance features like rightsizing, smartbilling, application SLAs, tele-consulting, etc.
François Lecerf, VP of Engineering, Ipanema Technologies said: “We have put a lot of effort into the development of the SALSA platform, and we are really pleased with this SALSA v5 release. The whole team is committed to offering the best service platform that fully meets the Telcos and Managed Service Providers’ needs, not only in terms of scalability and reliability but also providing outstanding automation to simplify the operational teams daily work as well as easy integration into their OSS/BSS systems”.
Thierry Grenot, CTO, Ipanema Technologies said: “SALSA is a key component to achieve Ipanema’s mission which is to enable Telcos and Managed Service Providers to serve all their enterprise customers anywhere, any time, with high value, user-centric application services. This is an amazingly large market that is mostly unexplored. Other major advancements in that direction are already under progress at Ipanema, so stay tuned…”
