ADC announces InterReach® Office, an innovative wireless enterprise solution that enables a high-quality GSM mobile environment with unrivaled voice quality, and serves as the foundation for wireless PBX services as well as fixed-mobile convergence (FMC). Designed for deployment with standard carrier frequencies or via new low-power frequencies now being licensed in the UK and other countries.
“Increasing use of mobile devices inside enterprises is causing business customers to demand better coverage and capacity,” said Hilton Nicholson, president of the Network Solutions Business Unit for ADC. “InterReach Office allows carriers to deliver high-quality coverage quickly and cost-effectively for their enterprise customers today, with a migration path to IP PBX integration and fixed mobile convergence tomorrow.”
For wireless operators, InterReach Office enables new high-value services and reduces churn among enterprise customers. For enterprises, InterReach Office heralds a new era of mobile productivity by optimizing business processes with benefits like least-cost call routing, single-number connectivity, and ubiquitous mobile data services.
InterReach Office Features
The first phase release of InterReach Office is a rack-mountable GSM base station in a compact server-like enclosure. It enables fast and cost-effective deployment of high-capacity wireless coverage for several hundred users in mid-sized buildings. InterReach Office can also be combined with an InterReach Unison or InterReach Fusion® distributed antenna system (DAS) to efficiently extend its coverage area within larger structures.
Thanks to its all-IP architecture, InterReach Office backhauls traffic to carrier networks via an IP connection over DSL or cable modem networks, allowing for faster and simpler setup and configuration than any other product. Additional features include:
• Support for all GSM bands (850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz)
• Local switching within the enterprise
• Easy DAS integration for extended coverage
• Voice and data capabilities
• Roadmap toward IP PBX connectivity and enterprise FMC
