Denver (March 5, 2007): Intermap Technologies Corp. (TSX: IMP.TO, AIM: IMAP.L) today announced that it has been awarded a US$3.1 million contract to collect and deliver geographic three-dimensional elevation and imagery data in Southeast Asia. The Company will utilize one of its five aircraft equipped with their proprietary IFSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) mapping technology to complete the project. Under the terms of the agreement, the company will deliver Digital Surface Model (DSM) and Orthorectified Radar Imagery (ORI) data incrementally throughout 2007.
Intermap’s revolutionary IFSAR technology enables the Company to map large areas more quickly and efficiently than any other airborne radar mapping technology in the world. The Company’s fixed-wing aircraft, equipped with advanced IFSAR platforms, can operate day or night, in clear or cloudy conditions — virtually anywhere, anytime.
“The award of this contract is a testament to our ability to deliver on commitments to government agencies and commercial enterprises around the world,” commented Garth Lawrence, Intermap’s senior vice president of operations. “The client chose Intermap for our ability to create precise digital elevation models and radar imagery, while not being hindered by weather. This is particularly important to the client due to the inclement weather patterns in the region and their need for timely, accurate data.”
